Ireland Fashion Week

Guest of Honour at the Inauguration of Irelands very first Fashion Week

For the inaugural Irish Fashion Week, Rachelle Cunningham was invited as Guest of Honour to the Irish Embassy, where she joined the Irish Ambassador and Irish Fashion Week founder Ashley McDonnell in conversation, sharing her journey as an artist, the inspirations behind her practice, and her vision for the future. Returning to her home country as a VIP guest for the event, she celebrated Ireland's rich artistic heritage while participating in the historic launch of the country's first international fashion week.

To commemorate the occasion, Rachelle created an original painting inspired by the mythology of Celtic folklore, Lilith and Eve, and the landscapes of Ireland's west coast, where she is from in Galway. Transforming the artwork into bespoke printed textiles, she designed a capsule collection consisting of two dresses and a tailored coat, complemented by hand-painted corsets that echo the female form. Developed alongside two interns, the collection paid tribute to Ireland through colour, storytelling, and craftsmanship, merging fine art, fashion, and Irish identity into a contemporary celebration of the country's creative spirit.
